Ryan Gander's Didactease is a symbol, or in fact a combination of symbols, which states in mathematical terms: "There exists only one definition for everything, everywhere at any one time." It is something of a recurring symbol in his work, appearing on the Lisson Gallery's editioned print above, utilised in a pendant worn by a gallery assistant throughout his South London Gallery show Heralded As The New Black in 2008 (below), as well as being made available to buy as licensed pattern.
